The Wine

Colour: Dark red centre and an attractive bright red edge. The colour shows youth and the ability to age further.

Nose: The nose holds hints of plum and dark chocolate, backed up with sweet cherry and black berry fruits. The nose is forward and intense showing a balanced integration of the French oak barrels.

Palate: The palate shows soft ripe fruity tannins with loads of weight and depth. There is an excellent balance between the wood and tannins. The wood tannins are wonderfully integrated and the balance shows depth with a long full mouth feel at the end. This wine will age for at least 5 to 10 years. The fruit is tight and will open with time, the length and finish is long and shows huge potential.

Viticulture

The Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes were sourced from carefully selected trellised and bush vine vineyards in Stellenbosch. The selected blocks are all low yielding vines resulting in increased concentration of flavour in the wine.

Winemaking

The 3 grape varieties were matured separately in 225 litre French oak barriques for 12 months. Blending has ensured the balance of fruit, structure and age ability.
