Skilpadvlei Chenin Blanc 2007

Stellenbosch is the area of originof all the grapes that are used in the Skilpadvlei wines. The temperate climate of the region is enhanced by the cool sea breeze from False Bay, cooling the vineyards in the late afternoons and evenings during summer. These factors contribute to the unique characteristics and flavour components in our wines.

The vineyards were planted in granite soils with a clay sub-layer. The grapes are harvested at cool temperatures.

Skin contact took place for about 10 hours, and enzymes were used to bring the flavour profiles in the wine to the fore. The lovely tropical fruit flavours on the nose are enhanced by honeysuckle and apple undertones. Full bodied and easy to drink with a crisp aftertaste.
