A blend of 45% Cabernet franc, 35 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Shiraz and 5% Merlot. All the Cabernet grapes for this wine were harvested from blocks situated on the north-facing slopes of the Groot Drakenstein mountain range. The Shiraz and Merlot were harvested from several east and north-east facing vineyard blocks situated in the medium and lower slopes of the Simonsberg range. Soils vary from decomposed granite, to stony clay soils, to rich, dark, alluvial soils.
